Two real units, in a catalog full of invented ones. That makes these figures the most trustworthy numbers on the shelf and the most easily over-read, because a real unit invites arithmetic that nobody on the box has authorized.

Wattage

Every microwave listing here states a wattage, which makes that category the only one where the figure is universal. In the air fryer category two listings share a wattage figure while stating different basket volumes and different maximum temperatures, so the figure travels alone. In the toaster category exactly one listing states a wattage, leaving it with nothing to be compared against.

A wattage figure on a box is a stated input rating. This site reports it and stops there. It does not divide it by power levels, does not scale it against capacity and does not relate it to anything in a home.

Degrees

The temperature claims in this catalog are statements about the range a machine says it offers. Some are a single ceiling figure and one is a span with both ends given. One slow cooker listing states a temperature for its pot rather than for the machine, which is a claim about a material.

None of these figures is a recommendation, and none of them appears on this site as one. This site publishes no cooking temperatures and no cooking times.

What is regulated here

Microwave ovens are regulated in the United States as radiation-emitting electronic products, under a federal performance standard at Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 1030; the Food and Drug Administration publishes a consumer page on that program. Energy test procedures for covered consumer products sit at Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 430. Both are linked below, and neither of them is a statement about how fast anything cooks.

What cannot be compared here

A watt is a defined unit and so is a degree, so unlike the counts on this site these figures are at least measurements. What they are not is predictions. Two air fryers here state the same wattage on baskets of different sizes with different stated maximum temperatures. This site does not turn a wattage into speed, into running cost, into heat or into any statement about a household circuit.

Put two of these side by side in Count Compare, or find out how many listings print the same one in Same Numbers Check.
